I order this recently and all I can say is this antenna has to be one of the best performers I've ever used. I have worked lots of DX with this antenna with both my Yaesu FT 891 and my FX4CR and even with 20W I'm getting 57-59 reports out of Europe, Africa, South America, Canada and all over the USA. This antenna has impressed me so much I just ordered the Rybokov and the EFRW 160-6m cant wait to try them out!!!! These guys build quality products! KF0HNN 73!

I have used this on several POTA activations so far using a 32ft TN07 mast on a hitch mount from my truck.
Very easy to deploy and so far getting good results even on days when the bands were not the best. I have used multiple modes
SSB, CW, FT8. I have used this QRP and with 100w radios and have not been disappointed. This antenna is easy to pack and does not
weigh much at all. This is my go to antenna at the moment. Jeff KD9K

The 4010 EFHW has been outside my QTH for 6 weeks this winter, non-stop, here in Vt. I just took it down to put up the 2010 EFHW. The 4010 literally looks brand new after surviving weeks of high winds and temperatures as low as -7 degrees farehieght. These things will take a beating!!

My go-to SOTA antenna. This winter I've been snowshoeing to summits in Northern WA state with a SOTABEAMS Tactical Mini 6m fiberglass mast, the Reliance Antenna EFHW, and 25' RG-316 coax cable with built in choke. I attach the choke end of the coax to the transceiver so the coax shield can serve as a counterpoise. The EFHW matching unit I attach to the mast. Then I string out the wire and anchor it to a trekking pole, sign post, tree, backpack, whatever. Then raise the mast and start the activation. I love the form factor and size of the winder. The polystealth is amazing size/weight although I'd upgrade to poly-unstealth (hi-viz orange) if such option was available. This EFHW is so convenient and reliable I bring it even when I'm planning to try another antenna config. It's basically my first choice and primary backup for anything SOTA.

My son gave me the EFHW bugout transformer for Christmas and I finally added a 68’ of 22 gauge wire with 3’ folded back on it self. I configured it as a sloper and the bands tuned up perfectly according to my rigexpert analyzer.
Can’t wait to take into the field to put it on the air.

I can't tell enough people how great this antenna is. From POTA to SOTA or just in your backyard this antenna will work the world from a very small package. I heavily abuse all my gear, and weather is weather, so this antenna has seen snow, ice, heat and rain. It just works. I never had to trim mine. From day one it was resonant and performed. Finally ordered another one for my boat. Don't waste your money on inferior antennas. This is the best EFHW out there.

This antenna rocks! I finally got a chance to use it on my first POTA activation and performance was stellar. Not only was I getting out across the country but was also getting some respectable DX contacts.

I ended up going with this because it is still pretty small for portable operations but it is more ruggedized and weather resistant than many of the other options out there. It also has higher power handling than most so I can use it for QRO operations or possibly even field day.

Paired with an arborist throw line and throw bag, the kit is fairly small and I’m able to get it 40-50 feet up in a tree without too much effort.

Absolutely solid performer. I ordered from Matt a couple of weeks before my trip to Samoa. Arrived in New Zealand in a week. The antenna itself is well made, rugged, and the wire is super strong. I used it qrp, and made over 140 qso's (it was a holiday style activation), mostly on 3 w. The only continent I didn't work was Africa. The setup itself is light and given the power rating, very small. I have no hesitation in recommending the Bugout XL. Though tuned for the cw end of 40, 20, 15 and 10, it worked fine on other bands with my Elecraft ATU. Great work Matt
